I was a little low on groceries before I left for San Diego because I knew Archie would be at his grandparents while I was gone. I did a quick Instacart order and it arrived before I had to catch my flight at Ohare! I got some essentials for the flight. Justin’s butter is always one of my favorites for a flight. I was in the middle seat so I am sure they wondered what the heck I was eating. I guess its better than hard boiled eggs.

San Diego, I am so happy to have had the chance to go back! It may have been a excessive heat warning but we just had to bring extra water and snacks for the hike.

This RX bar kids flavor is my new favorite. Maybe I’ll actually share some with Archie. Instacart can deliver in as little as an hour!

I had an absolute blast visiting my bestie. We had tons of amazing seafood, went to a country bar to see a band, shopping, and pool time.
We hiked Cowles mountain… I didn’t know what I was in for that’s for sure. I was panting and covered in sweat and dust. The views from the top were worth it though!

#parentinggoals

We also hit up the San Diego zoo. Yes, with no kids but I wanted to see the Panda! Much to our disappointment, the line for the panda would have taken about 2 hours. So, since it was at the end of our zoo adventure, we decided to skip it! Oh well, maybe If I got back with Archie we can sit in line.
I was so stinking happy to see my little man when I returned but am still wanting to plan my next trip out west.

Hello!

The last two weekends have been a relaxing break from traveling every weekend of the summer. We were able to start our landscaping to quiet the neighbors complaints (eye roll).  I finally organized my office and framed some pictures from when Archie was 6 months old. Oops!

My mom took Archie to the county fair this week. He had an absolute blast with his cousin Emmett. He went on this ride which he technically wasn’t big enough for and kept sprinting back to it because he wanted to go for another ride.

Also, loved the chickens!

I have definitely been slacking on making it to the gym lately. It is hard to get out the door by 4:50am when I know I can do a little workout on my lunch break. I am hoping to make it back this week!

I finally gave in and I started taking Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics. I have noticed clearer skin and more energy. They include a unique blend of  PREbiotics, PRObiotics, and POSTbiotics all which help with your immune system. This will come in very handy when I am dealing with the germs from day care this winter!

This beauty bar will make it into my routine as well.

How was your Labor Day? Did you travel?

Feeling like fall

Hello!

I was traveling for work all week and because I had some time to myself made it to yoga every day! It was heated and the first class was rough but after that I got back into the swing of things! My back has been bothering me and it went away after these classes. Definitely need to remember that when I’m contemplating going to class.

We had a fall filled weekend even though it was 86 degrees. I had a little girls night and we went apple picking and of course picked up some apple donuts and dumplings.

We went back to my house and had pizza and snacks. Also, we made sure to catch up on bravo shows and do face masks!

Have you tried Seventh Generation products? I have and I love their laundry detergent. I adore how amazing the products work and I admire how the company cares for their customers and the environment. I was asked by Seventh Generation to host a Healthy Baby Home Party, where I would get a some moms together to discuss baby products, along with tips on making your home a more healthy home.

I also started using their dish soap especially when washing Archies bottles.

Next weekend we are laying low and then I leave for another work trip! But the day I get back from that we leave for Austin. So pumped! Any recommendations for Austin, Tx?

I received a free product in exchange for my review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Austin, TX

Hello!

Our trip to Austin was a blast. We flew out of Milwaukee which was very painless except for too much turbulence on the way there. It was a short trip so we made sure to start doing touristy activities right when we got there.

We hiked Lady Bird trail and probably went out a little too far because we ended up hiking 8 miles. This was after eating our weight in Torchy’s Tacos.  I was more than ready to be done by the end of that.

We ventured to San Antonio on Friday to spend the day there. We did lots of shopping and eating of course. Why do I always buy things when I have zero room to bring them home with me?

Archie got some bonding time with my in laws. I always forget how much work it is to pack myself and a 1.5 year old for a long weekend. Especially diapers! Diapers are a huge expense in our household. It is also pretty crazy to think of how many you go through in a day! Then to just sit in a landfill.

We started using Naty diapers as they are much better for the environment. Since going the cloth diaper route didn’t work we are happy to have found these! They are the only natural material to protect babies skin!

I am already looking forward to my next trip! Let me know if you have any suggestions!

I was provided a sample of products from Naty in exchange for my honest review.

Family Updates

Happy Tuesday!

Long time no blog over here! We spent the weekend celebrating my sisters birthday in Madison. We went out to a fabulous child free dinner on Friday night.

Saturday, Ryan and I watched our nephew and braved an indoor mini golf course. He was hilarious. Probably will wait a few years to go back with him since he ran up to the hole and put the ball in.

In other news, I have been sick lately because we have a new addition joining us in May! We are over the moon and excited to have two best friends in the house.  Archie has no idea what is going on of course but I am excited to see how he will react. I am hoping to do a pregnancy update soon. It is definitley true that you show MUCH earlier with your second baby.

Hope everyone has a fabulous thanksgiving! We are heading to my in laws tomorrow night!

My Go-To Winter Work Outfit

This post is sponsored by ClimateRight but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Does anyone else cringe when they hear the word snow? I am very jealous of people who love it and wish for it over the holidays. I really need to move south.

Christmas and NYE flew by! We were lucky to not have to travel over the holidays and we loved it. I ate way too many Christmas cookies but it was a blast making them with my nephews. I am pretty sure those cookies are the reason that Baby S was measuring big at the anatomy scan yesterday.

We were persistent and did NOT find out the gender again. I am dying to know but we are sticking to our guns.

The weather was fairly warm over the holidays but I still layered up with ClimateRight by Cuddle Duds I’ve always loved these and am not ashamed to wear them daily in the winter! Do you have some? They are a great deal! Perfect for standing out in the cold for soccer games, tailgating or a parade.

We had some family pictures taken and it may look nice out but it was only 40 degrees! Good thing I layered up.

34 degree walk today. This boy needs his fresh air!
I’ve been able to wear the stretch fleece at 23 weeks pregnant!

This weekend we are watching my nephew Emmett for a bit. I am going to attempt to do an obstacle course in the basement for him! Wish me luck.

What are you up to?

Happy new year!

Valentines Day and 3rd Trimester

Happy almost February! We are in the polar vortex in Wisconsin and I am pretty thankful that I have an option to work from home. Although getting the opportunity to have a few days off would be sort of amazing. I have a lot to do before this baby arrives and it seems like the weekends are just way too short.
We have shelves for the nursery but are waiting to get the queen sized bed out of there to start hanging! I have to travel for work next week so I am hoping in my evening down time to hit up home goods for some color for the walls.

Anyway, I am officially in the 3rd trimester. I am feeling much better just pretty large! I luckily found another box of my maternity clothes just in time. The baby is officially the size of a bunch of bananas… I feel like that is pretty vague but oh well. I’ve been listening to The Birth Hour podcast and am getting more and more nervous! I guess I better start gearing up for this baby to arrive.

27 Week Pregnancy Update

Baby: He or she is almost 2 lbs! We do get one more ultrasound in March but we are sticking with our plan to not find out the baby’s gender. I have been tempted to cave because we do not have a boy name.

Rings: On. I haven’t had any high blood pressure or swelling. Knock on wood!

Sleep: The snoogle pillow is back! I got rid of it for a few weeks. I miss sleeping on my stomach so much! Maybe even more than sushi and wine. I wake up a few times a night but can usually get back to sleep.

Movement: I can feel movement much more during the day! Lots of hiccups which is quite alarming in the middle of the night.

Workouts: I haven’t been able to run as much anymore which stinks.  I’ve had some pelvic/hip soreness after running so I keep it to about a mile a few times per week. I’ve been going to yoga at least once a week and sticking to some safe boot camp workouts.
Lately: We decided to go ahead and have our basement finished! We want to be able to enjoy it rather than waiting a few years. Hoping it can get started and completed before the baby arrives. I also finished the book The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. I LOVED it. Now I am on The Wife and it is pretty good but I am almost sure I’ve read it before. Or maybe the story line just lines up with another one I have read recently.

Speaking of February, I can’t believe Valentines day is right around the corner! I love sending my nephews Valentines day cards from Archie. I am currently loving Minted’s Valentines cards.

They are so darn cute and have something for everyone. I have to get some soon to send to Archie’s daycare! Check out the milk and cereal one and send it to your BFF.

I am also loving the prints below. I will need some decor options once we finish the basement. I love that they utilize local artists.

Hope you all have a fabulous day and stay warm!

Ryan’s 31st and VP

Ryan and I were talking this morning about how we cannot believe we met 12 years ago. This weekend we have been celebrating Ryan’s 31st birthday since his birthday is on Monday.

We hit up the ice sculptures near us in Lake Geneva. It was sad that we felt warm in the 30 degree weather. Compared to -26 degrees it felt amazing. They had some live music and drinks so we took advantage of it.

Can’t beat that view!
A cute artist in overalls

Ryan has been swimming at our high school some mornings so it has been interesting switching off working out! Since our basement is under construction it makes it a little difficult for me to workout. I’ve been trying to wake up and make coffee right away and not get distracted before I workout. I sometimes end up tidying up the kitchen and before I know it Archie is away and I need to start my work day.

I always add Vital Proteins to my coffee in the morning. I love that it has no taste or weird odor and doesn’t get chalky! I had no idea that around age 25, your body naturally stops producing collagen and the existing collagen will begin to break down. This leads to the aging process: wrinkles, sore joints and the loss of elasticity, firmness, and hydration. It is so easy to add to drinks or baked goods that you already consume. You don’t have to break out your blender and make a huge mess each morning!

Ollie Luca

Hello! Long time no talk. I officially have a one month old. As I’ve been told since finding out we were pregnant again, this baby is getting fairly neglected compared to our first. Anyway, Ollie was born 04/14/19 to mark our second early baby! These boys must not want to hang out with mom full term which is ok because they are never moving out!

I came down with a nasty cold/flu the week before Ollie was born which I think started my labor unfortunately. I started having contractions in my back and figured it was just back pain from the baby moving. Nope, it was essentially 4 days of contractions. On Saturday night before Ollie was born they got more close together but I was still able to go to my friends house for a get together. After a night of no sleep we dropped Archie off at my parents and moseyed over to the hospital. A short time later, I delivered Ollie who weighed almost 8 pounds. Not sure why I waited for this one to not have an epidural because Archie was a pound and a half smaller but oh well.

We are still adjusting to our new addition but loving everything about him.

Hello! We had a great Memorial Day and took Ollie on his first boat ride!

After having Ollie there was obviously a lot going on and many areas that were out of whack. I luckily have had great weather and have been able to take the boys for long walks daily. This is something that I didn’t get to do after I had Archie at all because it was the middle of winter. I think that has definitely helped me to recovery more quickly! I’ve even been able to get back into running. It is very tempting to try to get back into running often and over -doing it.

Another factor in my recovery has been Gut Connection by Country Life. This in conjunction with my probiotic has helped me balance out my digestion. They guarantee quality and even helps your immune system. I checked it with my lactation consultant and she advised that this will even aid my supply. Once I found that out, I knew I was the perfect candidate for this!

They carry Immune, energy, and digestive balance options!

This weekend I am heading to Madison for a girls weekend and I cannot wait! Do you take a prebiotic or probiotic? What are you up to this weekend?
